Puerto Galera is 130 kilometers away from Metro Manila and can be reached by 2 to 3 hours of land transportation to Batangas followed by a 1 to 2-hour ferry ride to Puerto Galera.

The following are several ways to go to Puerto Galera:

Public Transportation – Take any Batangas City-bound bus (preferably one that will go straight to Batangas Pier) from either the Bus Station located at Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Corner Taft Avenue, or at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX). The fare is around 300 pesos per person.

Upon arrival at Batangas Pier, proceed to the Passenger Terminal Building #3 where you can buy the ferry ticket. Pay the Terminal Fee (30 pesos per person).

If you wish to avoid the stress of public transportation, you can hire a private van for your transfer from Manila to Batangas. You can choose the pickup time and location in Manila, and indicate to your driver where to drop you off in Batangas. The private van can accommodate up to 12 passengers and costs 5500 pesos, one-way. A private car or SUV may cost around 4500, one-way.

Instead of public ferries, you can hire a water taxi; travel time is only 30 minutes from Berberabe Pier, Batangas to Sabang Pier, or Muelle Pier, Puerto Galera. The water taxi service costs 12000 pesos for 1 to 10 persons and an additional 500 pesos per person in excess of 10 persons. Maximum capacity is from 16 to 24 persons depending on the size of the water taxi. The Water Taxi departs and docks at Berberabe Pier, Batangas City.

Passenger Pooling – There is an option to share the water taxi cost to reduce the cost per person. This arrangement entails a fixed time of departure for all passengers and the cost per person may depend on the number of passengers sharing the trip.

If you miss the last trip to Puerto Galera, you can still reach your resort by taking a ferry going to Calapan Pier, Oriental Mindoro. From Calapan Pier, you can hire a Van and tell your driver where to drop you off in Puerto Galera which is 50 kilometers away (approx. 80 minutes travel time). A ferry departs from Batangas Pier to Calapan Pier almost every hour, 24/7.

Puerto Galera Online Services offer private van/car services – our driver will pick you up upon arrival at Calapan Pier and bring you to Puerto Galera. Along the way, you may want to stop for a short while at the Tamaraw Falls.

Rate: 3000 for the Private Van (max of 12), 2500 for the Suzuki Ertiga (max of 5) – one-way.

Upon arrival in Puerto Galera, pay the Environmental User Fee (120 pesos per tourist) and then proceed to exit Balatero Pier, where trikes are available to take you to your resort. You can pre-arrange your Pier Shuttle from Balatero Pier to your resort and vice versa. The Pier Shuttle Service is normally cheaper and safer than taking a trike.
